I met Stefan Colomb in Vichy, through a mutual friend, Sama. I was making a film about him, so he told me about Stefan. We quickly made an appointment at the cocoon café, a place that is quite emblematic of the city of Vichy. I went to the café with the idea of meeting a technician who would talk to me about technique and budget, I met a man in his entirety. A warm, sensitive, intelligent, friendly man who invited me to his studio to move on to the second stage. In his fiefdom, he let me take part in his work session with CAVILAM students. Then we went on to watch the rushes, and Stef immediately showed a great interest in my images. Which was a huge comfort for me, because he was the first professional to see these images that I took myself, even though I am not a professional cameraman. And Stef established a very affordable budget, while also telling me that he would be personally involved in finding the money, especially from the town of Vichy. The editing of this film on Sama is still not done, because fate decided otherwise. Just after our meeting, I left for Lausanne to take up an invitation for a writing residency. In the meantime the health crisis arrived and the borders were closed. I took up my camera to talk about myself, the health crisis and the city of Lausanne. With the help of the zooscope collective I edited the film. Then it was a question of mixing the sound. Without hesitation I proposed Stef. And there I discovered his artistic sensitivity and his intellectual dimension. From that moment on, we got into the habit of calling or texting each other to check up on each other and to discuss all sorts of subjects. At the moment we are still working on the editing of the film about Sama, but also on other projects, notably the screening in Vichy of the film "Lettre à Jean Luc Godard", the film he edited. Working with Stefan Colomb is to benefit from a package - artistic sensitivity - technical efficiency - human support.
